Lan'naya Wear.

A complete, West African inspired performance uniform for a troupe of 5 female dancers. This is a four-piece ensemble featuring a Ginean wax print and technical fabric halter top, technical leggings with Guinean wax print ruffles, a Guinean head band, and a pom-pom belt with beaded and cowrie shell decoration. This design was a colaboration between Rachel Stewart and Leida Tolentino, with the dancers helping to sew. It combines traditional West African materials and style with current technical fabrics to create a comfortable costume that helps the wearer feel powerful, beautiful, and athletic. The dancers thunder and explode accross the dance floor with their steps accentuated by the movement of this costume.
